So sorry to hear the sad news about Mary’s passing. She certainly brought a lot of joy to my life, growing up as a child and my siblings and I loved being around her. She was a true friend to my Mom Ber and I’m sure they’re both up there now together having a great giggle. She certainly was a sweet soul with a huge heart. May she rest in peace now.

Mary and my late Mom, Ber, were great friends all through life going all the way back to when they grew up together on McSwineys Villas. Mary was like an "adopted aunt" to myself and all of my siblings almost always joining us on our summer holiday trips down through the years as well as on many other occasions. So many fabulous memories of those times. My moms weekly shopping trip to Cork on Fridays always finished up at the Bookmart where we waited for Mary to close up shop, after which we then took her shopping on North Main Street to get her own bits and bobs, followed by spending the evening with Mary back at her house on McSwineys Villas. She was so very generous, loving and so kind to us and also tremendous fun to be around. With Mary laughter was never far away that's for sure! We all loved her dearly. Rest in peace now Mary.

She was a Lady so kind & thoughtful down through the years and was also my wonderful neighbour who cared for me so so well during my childhood she was my second Mum and she was our Fourth Sister. I bought my childrens school books at the Book Mart. She provided a great service. Always a queue outside her shop at going back to school time.
I feel I got to know her from listening to Ger talk about her. She sounded like some woman.
