It is with great regret and sadness that we learned of the passing of Mary, our friend and former work colleague. Mary will be sadly missed by the community groups and individuals who got to know her so well through her work as a Development Officer. Her capacity to emphasise, do her very best, and go the extra mile for the people she supported was second to none and was deeply appreciated. Saddened to learn of Mary's passing. In her work, Mary was a dedicated, compassionate and tireless advocate for the communities she worked with. A great loss to our community. Mary was a trojan worker who saw things that needed to be done and did them, saw things that needed to be changed and help to change them. She battled causes with a sincere heart and infectious smile. She cared about others and loved her family deeply.

We were lucky enough to work with Mary on a range of projects in her time with Drumlin CDP and MID. She had a rarely seen insight and intuition into how Community Education programmes should and could work. She met all learners on their level and listened intently to what their needs were. This led to collaborative work on a wonderful range of projects including men's sheds, cultural champions, healthy eating programmes etc. She always championed for the most disadvantaged and ensured their lives were made better by engagement with programmes. She was exceptionally empathic, kind and hardworking. We have greatly missed her for her advice and her fun and will continue to do so. Our most sincere condolences to John, Catherine, Daniel and Jacqueline- may she rest in eternal peace.
