So sorry to hear of Mary's passing. As a childhood friend of the younger members of that lovely family , I always saw Mary as the inspirational 'big sister' and so family orientated. Dear Jane and Family,

I’m so sorry to hear about Mary’s passing. My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. May you find comfort in your memories and in the love that surrounds you.
To John and family, we are saddened to hear of Mary's death and wish to extend our warm and sincere condolences. We have fond memories of one of your visits to California, impressed with your explorations of Yosemite to the North, through many nature parks, trails, and sites to the South, and in-between. We remember sharing a delightful excursion to Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, and a visit to our home. Then more sweet memories made when we connected during our visit to Dublin. We shared a wonderful evening together. The following day, Mary guided us through a fabulous art museum, and I recall how she knew aspects of many artists' works, subjects, and techniques. Quite impressive that she was so knowledgeable. Mary was truly a remarkable lady, earthy, yet having a great sense of sophistication especially for music and arts, and she will be missed in this world.
Sincere condolences to John, Eithne and Jane and the extended family on the death of Mary. John, Mary and my parents go a long way back and have been friends for many years, having met in the Irish Mountaineering Club. I have nice memories of Mary and John visiting my late mother Sylvia and my dad, Noel, in Templeogue. Thinking of you all at this difficult time. May Mary rest in peace. Suaimhneas síoraí di.

Dear Jane,
My deepest condolences to you and your family for the loss of your mother. May you all live long so that she stays alive in your memories.
Our thoughts are with you in this sad hour.
Mary was exceptional in so many ways. I was so lucky to have her visit in Zimbabwe where we took a walking safari in the wilds of Kariba being one of the highlights. Also her visits to California with John and driving hundreds of miles to hike in Yosemite Valley in the snow and also at Lake Tahoe. Best of all the Irish visits with my boys always educational with Art Galleries and Museums top of the list and a deep knowledge of artists, composers and history. I could write a book on her influence on us all as head of our large Dunmanway family which shaped our lives. John, Eithne and Jane you will of course miss her the most. R.I.P. Mary. Will miss the chats and endless cups of tea.
