Mary, I never knew you and have only a passing connection with Carlow and Cork, but I will always keep you, your late husband, the wonderful undertaker Rory Healy and the kind people of Carlow in my prayers. This has restored my faith in humanity and in us Irish people - this is what we are: kind, welcoming people who open our hearts and our communities to people no matter where they come from. You didn't have a big family to bury you, Mary - but we are all your family.

RIP Mary, you are now reunited with your beloved Fred & family and laid to rest by the care of your friends.

Mary, you had a great send off yesterday and it was wonderful to see all the people that turned out - especially the older students from 2 Askea schools who obviously felt so compassionate about Rory’s message.
