Remembering my lovely friend Mary. She was a very gentle lady, very soft spoken. A good word to say about everyone. She worked hard for her family over the years. I am so sad to hear of Mary’ death; my sympathies to all of you, her family, neighbours and friends.I got to know Mary some 40 years ago as an adult literacy volunteer tutor in Write Together; then as a member of the Cork Women’s Action Group and one of the founding members of Mna Feasa Women’s Domestic Violence Project, and all through those years, as a true friend and comrade working In the community. Mary was wise, thoughtful and unassuming in her approach, with a lovely sense of fun...I still sense her enjoyment singing “Dublin in the Rare Ould Time” at many a party.
Mary, rest peacefully now, beautiful friend.

I was sad to hear of Mary's passing and send my condolences and Leona's, to Ruth, Alan, Kenneth, John, her beloved grandchildren Chloe and Adam and all of Mary’s family.

Mary brought her warmth and kindness to our home over several years, her love of family and community and her positive approach to living. I am very grateful for her support ovet that time.

I am sorry that I am away from Cork for her funeral service but hope to join on line.

Sincere condolances to Alan, Ruth, Kenneth, John, and the extended family and friends of Mary. We moved into Glandore Park 50 years ago in August 1974. Mary & Jack moved in a few days before us and on the same block of 6 homes. The Bishops were always the kind of neighbours who you would be blessed to have, you could always rely on them, from Jack and all the electrical work he did for us, to Mary and her lovely warm, kind spirit. She never had a bad word to say about anyone and always looked on the positive side. May she now rest in peace, we will miss her always x
