I was saddened to hear of the unexpected passing of Mary Rose. My sincere condolences to Mary Rose's family and friends and especially Síle.

It was a great honour and privilege to work with Mary Rose in Liberties College for the best part of 30 years often in the same department. She made a big mark on the college and left a legacy that will remain long after her. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
So sad to hear of Mary Rose's passing What a lovely, sweet, humble person she was . Every time I met her around Marino she was heading on a mission sometimes local or at other times preparing to head off to Africa.
What a wonderful contribution to humanity. My condolences to her family and special friends.
Ar dheis De go raibh d'anam.
Sincere condolences to Margaret, Declan, Finbar and the extended O'Connor family at this sad time. Mary Rose and I were colleagues at Coláiste Eoin, Cappagh Road, Finglas in the mid-seventies, at the beginning of her teaching career. She was an extremely considerate and kind colleague with a strong commitment to social justice, inclusion and selfless service.... as well as being a dedicated camogie player and supporter.

My deepest sympathy to Mary Rose’s family and friends. I had the pleasure of working with Mary Rose both in Ireland and Sierra Leone over a number of years. Her passion for education was inspiring and we were privileged that she was so generous in sharing her vast knowledge with so many others. Mary Rose was also a wonderful travel companion, always calm, full of adventure accompanied by a good sense of humour. The positive impact of her work in Kono and Makeni is visible in the classrooms there today. Mary Rose will be greatly missed as both a colleague and a friend. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

I had the absolute privilege to travel and work with Mary Rose to Sierra Leone in 2017. I was desperately sorry to hear this news , I have fond memories of our nightly chats around a kitchen table under the African sun. Mary Rose was wonderful company, a gentle women who always had time for everyone and always with good humour. Sincere condolences to Mary Roses family and to all who loved her. May she rest in peace.
I will always cherish the memory of Mary Rose as a truly special and caring colleague when I was in the Liberties. Even after we both retired we continued collaborating on international projects, and her unwavering dedication to supporting teachers in Sierra Leone through the PAL project was truly inspiring. Her kindness and commitment left a lasting impact on everyone she worked with. My sincere condolences to Mary Roses family and friend. May she rest in peace.
I was privileged to have know and worked with Mary Rose since she first traveled with us to Sierra Leone in 2017 to facilitate teacher education there. Her kindness and care for the teachers and her innate understanding of their challenges and where they were coming from, coupled with her professionalism and skills allowed their professional growth in ways no one could have imagined. Messages received from Sierra Leone on news of Mary Rose’s death is testament to that. Mary Rose continued to support teachers in Sierra Leone and used her gentle influence to help further our work together. It might be a stretch to say Mary Rose introduced Reflective Practice and Mentoring in West Africa, but she certainly played a very significant role in doing so, helping develop reflection and mentoring amongst a large number of teachers across a range of schools in Kono and Makeni. Mary Rose was an amazing woman and leaves a lasting legacy to all who were privileged to have known and loved her. My condolences to her wide circle of friends, her family and those closest to her.
On behalf of our school community, I send sincere sympathies and condolences to Mary Rose’s family. I met Mary Rose through her work in education. She was an inspiration to so many and leaves a rich, positive legacy. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
