To Josephine, Judy, Nicky, Jackie and extended families - I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mum. I've known your mum and dad since 1960 when I went to look after their children. I enjoyed being welcomed into their family and being guided by Mary in their upbringing. I have such wonderful memories from my time spent there. Many thanks to all the family from Mary. I have the warmest and most precious of memories with Mary, John and her family at Knockcranny with Rosy and Dave during my 20's. Mary was the kindest and sweetest of people with a great sense of humour to match.

I'm so grateful to be able to join the service online and celebrate Mary's life.

To Jo, Judy, Jackie and Nicky, I have such fond memories of your mum. A wonderful, smiling, warm hearted mother. I can remember wonderful times when our family visited Knockranny and we’d watch FA Cup finals, watch Wimbledon and then play outside on the grass tennis court, never mind the joint soccer matches. I also remember picking loganberries and blue berries and your mum loving her new white kitchen when Mary Doyle helped design it back in the day. Knockranny had that sense of a retreat from the city life, none more so than helping Mary pick up the hens eggs and the dogs running wild. So many fond memories of John, Anthony, and our families marching up the top of the sugar loaf, and me singing Roger Daltrey’s “Giving it all Away” at the top as we munched on a picnic prepared by Mary and Phyllis. Thinking of Mary now and her forever smile.

Nicky, August 16th 1977. We were 14. I was in your living room watching TV. The news came on. Elvis Presley had died. Your wonderful Mum Mary came running out of the kitchen and sat with us. She was one of my parents life long friends who I really liked being with as a teenager, from her genuine warmth, and interest showed to your friends. It struck me every time I met her. She was so lovely in every way. Her natural charm and care shone through. It actualy Radiated. In hindsight, what a beautiful natured lady she really was. May she rest in peace and say hello to Elvis!

I have been thinking about all the good times I had in Knockranny from when i first went to work there in those beautiful gardens . I was just 10 years old then .Just to say, Your Mum was like a 2nd mother to me back then . When I was there all those 50 + years ago . I will and have always cherished those memories of your mum from those Knockranny days . She was one in a million .She always made me feel so welcome at Knockranny .Great memories of a great lady .

I am so very sorry about the passing of your dear mother. She was a wonderfully warm person who lead a joyful and happy life. She raised a beautiful family, and I am sure that she will live forever through her sons and daughters, granddaughters and grandsons, and great grandkids.
