I had the utmost pleasure of knowing Mary from nights at The Limerick Camera Club.
Such a sweet unassuming lady and what an accomplished photographer.
As I write this I am remembering a pre digital slide show which she presented to us on a trip she made to Namibia.
This memory for me always brings to mind the stunning film The English Patient.
Condolences to all of Mary's family. She was a real light in this world.

I have fond memories of working with Mary when we were both in the Limerick Camera Club in the 1980’s. I especially remember her combination of hard work and good humour planning an exhibition at the Belltable in 1988. A very gentle lady. Sincere sympathy to her family.

Limerick Camera Club would like to offer its condolences to the family and friends of the late Mary Tarry. Mary was a member of LCC since 1970 and held the position of honorary president of the club until her death. She will be remembered for her outstanding Black and White, Equestrian and Sports Photography. Her work was published locally and in sporting magazines internationally. She supported the club over many years by welcoming and hosting the guest speakers. Many of the club meetings were held in her home at Islandea. She invited club members to photograph her horses, her flowers and her pets. She was an expert in the dark too and shared her knowledge generously with all members. May she rest in peace.
