I was deeply saddened to learn of Tessa's death. I have many fond memories of her in Luxembourg when I was growing up, at Irish Club events and Mass at the European Parish. She was always so warm and friendly, and impeccably chic. Indeed as a child I could never quite work out whether she was Irish or French! Sincere condolences to all her family and friends. Rest in Peace Tessa, a stalwart of the Irish community in Luxembourg.

Sincere condolences from everybody in the Irish Club of Luxembourg. Tessa was the founding member of the club and was very involved for many years. We are grateful for all the tireless work she did. A great lady she will be missed.

I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Tessa. My deepest condolences to Noelle, Rick, Peter, Eimear and all the family. I have known Tessa throughout my time here in Luxembourg. It was always a pleasure to work with her especially to plan and organize concerts. Her ideals and vision were highly appreciated in this intercultural community. We'll miss you, Tessa. Sincere sympathy to Noelle, Richard, Peter and Eimear and to Tessa's extended family on the death of Tessa RIP. I knew Tessa when I was in Luxembourg (1997-2006). I worked with her on the committee of the Irish Club. She was the driving force of the Irish Club of Luxembourg, she cared deeply about it and commanded the respect of an elder. As a Committee member, Secretary and President, I always felt accountable to Tessa (I'd be sure to have the Minutes of the last Irish Club meeting sent out before I'd meet her at Mass because she would be asking about them!). Tessa was always very interesing to talk to and she was interested in everyone. A very stylish lady, she was a proud West Cork woman and never forgot her family roots. She was a beautiful lady and we have fond memories of her visits to Ballinavar and evenings spent in Sam's Cross where Tessa would sing Danny Boy and then in later years her visits to us here in Ahaguilla. Also we had the pleasure of enjoying great nights spent with her at her birthday partys.May Tessa rest in peace.

Sad news of Tessa's death. We were colleagues and close friends in the European Parliament in the early days of Ireland's accession in 1973.
A kind colleague, intelligent and witty, i enjoyed her company and on many occasions her warm hospitality.

It was a pleasure and a privilege for both of us to have worked with her on the Irish Club committee where in addition to organizing social events,Tessa loved to chat about politics in Ireland. She represented all that was best of Ireland in her European Parliament career and in the wider Luxembourg community. Always so glamorous and chic, she will be truly missed by all who knew her. I was very sorry to hear the news about Tessa. I will remember her as smiling and friendly whenever we met - which tended to be at Irish Club of Luxembourg events back in the day, but also on those occasions when we ran into each other since. God bless and be with all the Collins and Butler families now, and may Tessa rest in peace.

Lovely memories of our Dad Maurice’s very gorgeous ,glamorous and vivacious cousin Tessa coming back to Clonakilty over the years with tales of Dáil Éireann and the European Parliament as it was then known …we loved her visits home from Luxembourg ....she was a trail blazer,, so proud of her roots, a born and bred Clonakilty woman with Sam’s Cross and Bealad heritage ,love to all all our cousins on this sad passing
