"Granny Mary" was a woman as formidable as she was funny. She could make you laugh, and simultaneously whisper words to keep you on the straight and narrow.

I used to catch her smiling at her children laughing (or debating) and likewise her grandchildren. In later life, with me honoured to be sharing a family occasion, in a room of children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren during a celebration, I commented on the chaos, and Granny Mary said "It's great, isn't it?".

I was privileged to see the love, and privileged to know a small piece of her for ~30 years.

My love and condolences to all her family and extended families.

Mary, I hope you have the softest bed in the middle of a busy highway in heaven - you have given the people of Bray, all the church parishes in Bray, irrespective of creed, your steadfast support in your long
life, you will be missed : most especially at Christmas time when the Santa hat got its annual outing! Sleep well Mary till we meet again.
