Fond memories of Vonla when she lived at The Turrets Charleville where her father had a veterinary practice. In particular ,her father had a great reputation for treating greyhounds.

To Vonla’s extended family and friends,
Over here in the states we were devastated to learn of Vonla’s sudden passing. Having come to know her since she started her Hyatt Career in 1992, she was far more than a co-worker or friend, she was family. Our kids called her Aunt Vonla and we spent many holidays together in Tampa, Atlanta, Charlotte and Denver including her favorite one, America’s Thanksgiving. Only because it was all about friends, family, food and of course her contribution to finish the meal, Irish Coffee. When we last spoke, we made a commitment to get together this year. That unfortunately did not happen. It will be one of our life’s regrets and a healthy reminder of just how short life can be. We will always remember Vonla, her impact on those whose paths she crossed and the pure joy it was to be around her. Thank you God for that Blessing. Condolences to Von's family and friends. I have pleasant memories of bridge lessons at the Mills with Von and many practice sessions in her lovely home in Monkstown - as beginners it was the blind leading the blind but it was great fun and we improved!!!

Von was an integral part of our family. She loved bringing people together and worked hard to make that happen. We will miss her good humor and quick wit. We were fortunate to have her spend a significant amount of time here in Florida with us and my parents. We will always appreciate the time and effort she took to make sure we were well taken care of when we visited Ireland as she did last year.

I am so sorry to hear of Von’s sudden passing. Although I had not met her for many years she was good gas and I have fond memories of fun times with her in Carrigtwohill, Crookhaven and Dublin.

I remember Vonla from my school days waiting with her and the other pupils at Snave,Bantry for the Glengarriff bus to take us to the secondary schools in Bantry.She was such an elegant lady.

My sincere sympathies to all of Vonlas family and friends. Even though i never met Vonla i spoke to her on the phone on numerous occassions and we always had a wonderful chat. She was the nicest lady on the phone. May she rest in peace.

I knew Vonla primarily in my youth through family reunions, as she was my first cousin once removed (my father's cousin). Although our encounters were limited, I always admired her wonderful sense of humor and her genuine gift for conversation. One small memory stands out vividly: I recall seeing her taking a quiet rest, soaking up the rays on our patio, entirely absorbed in that simple pleasure. She invited me to sit beside her and enjoy the warmth of the sun. As I was quite young, it was the first time I'd ever truly considered how delightful something as simple as sunbathing could feel. Even today, whenever I take a quiet moment on a sunny day, I can still hear her voice remarking, "Isn't it glorious?" Certainly, she had a talent for making small moments meaningful, and I'm grateful for this lasting gift.

I will miss our chats and especially the laughs we had!! Von had an amazing sense of humour. Her trips to the garden centre always started with a hug, and ended with laughter. The stories from her growing up in West Cork were just classic. We need to do coffee soon Von!!

My condolences to Vons family and friends. What started as a client/trainer relationship quickly developed into a lovely friendship with Von. I’ll miss my chats with her, hearing about her adventures in the U.S. and our strolls along the waterfront in Monkstown. She often mentioned that she felt her beloved father sat on her shoulder giving her advice and I hope she’s seated next to him now, reunited.
