Shocked and saddened to hear of Mary's passing. I knew Mary for nearly 60 years... and have memories ranging from playing in her house in the Barracks, camping in the rain on Aran Mor to attending art exhibitions... Even though we didn't see as much of each other in later years, Mary was someone you could just fall right back in step with and pick up where we left off... She will be sadly missed...by all who knew her.

It is with great sadness and shock that I read of Mary’s all too early passing.

I have wonderful happy memories of working with Mary in Santiago De Compostella, Spain during the 1990’s and of holidaying with her during those years too.

Prayerful sympathy to family and friends of Mary White – a woman who dedicated her life to the development of Cluny in Killiney.
During her watch the school was a generous supporter of education and Womens’ Development in Haiti, Sierra Leone and West Indies in particular. News of her death brought in assurance of prayers and many heart felt tributes from Sr Clare Stanley our Superior General and others from all over the world.
On a personal level I found her dedicated and warm; her passing is a huge personal sorrow.
May God give her the glory of heaven.

I was so very sorry to hear of Mary's death.
She was a real lady, even from our early day's in National School, she was gracious, kind, beautiful, good humoured and with a head of blonde hair we all envied. It was also lovey to have had a long chat with her after all these years at the 40th school reunion.

My heartfelt condolences to Mary’s family at this very sad and difficult time.
She was an incredibly gifted, gentle and “sound” human being .
I have a multitude of wonderful memories of Mary from her earliest school days.
I can still picture some of her beautiful and striking art work as a little girl; remember words from her “imaginative compositions” so beautifully and sensitively crafted; recall her smile and kind sense of humour and especially her wisdom which as very young children we all recognised. We always quietened and listened to Mary’s gentle voice.
Thank God for her beautiful light and presence in all our lives.

It was so sad to hear of Mary's passing. Mary was a beautiful, kind and gentle person. I attended school with Mary in St. Louis Rathmines and only last September played golf with Mary in a St. Louis Past Pupil outing. We spent a lovely afternoon together. I will cherish this last time I met her.

I was so genuinely sad to hear of Mary's passing. When I look back at the secondary school years at Cluny, she is the teacher who stands out as having been supportive, encouraging and kind. She never disregarded or doubted her students. or allowed them doubt themselves.

She always put the interests of the students and the school above herself, she will be missed dearly.

She was such a elegant lady who always had time for her students & past pupils. Mary was also my basketball coach when I was in first year. Many a lifts were given in her Red Peugeot 205.

Mary was an exceptionally dedicated school principal with a warm and generous heart. As a consequence of having three daughters in Cluny, Mary and I had our moments! Notwithstanding our occasional differences, I was always immensely impressed with her ability to manage the disparate demands placed upon her by students, parents, teachers, staff and the Dept of Education. As a family we are very grateful to her for the leadership she showed and the values she instilled in our daughters and the wider Cluny community. May she rest in peace.

The news of Mary's death came as an utter shock yesterday. It was always a pleasure to deal with Mary. She exuded a passionate pride in her students and maximising their development potential. Our daughter Maeve excelled during her 6 years in Cluny and indeed I knew from Mary's introductory address to parents of Maeve's year that Cluny was the right school for her. I will treasure the note of thanks she sent to me on her retirement. Today I am struggling with the reality that her inspirational and dynamic life force , who achieved so much good is no longer with us.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mary....she was a wonderful, passionate and hardworking teacher (so many history essays to correct....I don't think any other teacher corrected such a volume of work and she always had constructive, invaluable guidance included!).

Our two daughters had Mary as a Principal in their years at Cluny. I also was Chairperson of the Parents Committee and we were both part of the fundraising committee for Sierra Leone 'Build a Bridge' Project. She was a wonderful lady, who cared passionately about her school and her students and we saw another side to her during our campaign to raise money for Sierra Leone.
