Massimo LEPRI

Massimo was a wonderful teammate and umpire and will be sorely missed by all in Softball and beyond. His contribution to, and passion for the sport, and efforts in establishing the Wicklow Wolves is a wonderful legacy that will not be forgotten. My condolences to Louise, Seán and his family. He will be missed greatly. What a great guy who has done you all so proud.

My sincere condolences to all of Massimo's family. He was a great team mate for many years on the Dublin Spartans baseball club and an ever-present baseball umpire also for many years. He will be missed by many in Baseball Ireland.

Shocked to hear the very sad news about Massimo. I knew him through business and we maintained a friendship. We had fun at one of the first Ireland-Italy rugby encounters. He was great to do business with, a pleasure to know and always good to meet. By all accounts it was a life well lived and he was well loved by many. Louise Sean and family, I was very saddened to hear of Massimo, s passing, my memories of Massimo would big his friendly happy smile, the day of your wedding when he played with his band, he was so proud, his warm and loving way to you Louise and his family, it was such a happy day for you both. Dynamoes Softball Club would like to extend our deepest sympathies on Massimo’s untimely passing. He was one of the Irish softball greats and worked tirelessly for the sport, both on and off the field as a committee member, coach, player and umpire. His passion for the game was infectious and he has inspired many young players over the years. When sharing the field with Massimo, there would sometimes be fierce competition, occasional controversy but always fun and laughter. He was perpetually good humoured and quick to smile, even in the face of adversity. He will be sorely missed by everyone fortunate enough to have played with him and the sport is poorer without him.

On behalf of the members of the WicklowWolves, I want to express our deepest condolences to Louise, Seán, Anna and Valeria during this darkest of times for them.
Words are hopelessly inadequate to provide comfort to the bereft, but they are all we have.
Massimo's contributions to Softball, Baseball and Basketball have spoken of his generosity, his integrity, his capacity for humour, hard work and determination that a job that was worth doing was worth doing right. Massimo played many roles within our club, Co-founder, he drafted our club constitution, was team Captain in our first season, Club Treasurer, Advocate, and Advisor. Most importantly he was also a friend. We will miss him dreadfully and will work to ensure his legacy will go on as long as the Wicklow Wolves continues as the club he helped to form.

RIP Massimo. A true gentleman who lit up our canteen at lunchtime, you will be sadly missed. My deepest condolences to all of Massimo’s family.

There is always someone that makes an impact in the lives of others. Massimo was that someone for me and Monica. We'll be in eternal gratitude to him for changing our lives many years ago. As a member of the Irish softball community, Massimo has always been known for his devotion to the sport; his generousity in sharing his time and expertise; and for his boundless good humour. There was never a game or an event or a player that Massimo wasn't prepared to invest his time in and share his talents with. But above all, he will be remembered for the indelible smile which–rain or shine, ball or strike, win or lose–he always wore. The league will never be the same without him, and while he will be missed, I'm certain that the mere mention of his name in time to come will bring Massimo's own smile to the lips of those who so fondly remember him.

We meet in Ornua and instantly we became good friends, such a kind and loving person. He was always positive and there for you.
I got addicted to his tiramisu despite I don’t like sweets at all. We only communicated in Italian as it gave us a special bridge. We deeply appreciated him as colleague but I will deeply miss him as my friend.

Massimo was for me a brother more than a friend since we met 34 years ago in Sassari
Our friendship growth since then.
We have been deeply involved in the local Catholic Association of Students, we were spending time together in summer time at his place at the seaside, playing risiko or basketbal, but, above all, shering our common faith in God in everyday life.
Massimo took seriousely the teaching of Piergiorgio Frassati: "dobbiamo vivere, non vivacchiare"; and also "a christian can not be too sad, we have the joy of the resurrection in our hart".

Dispite the distance, even when in Ireland, Massimo was able to keep our links alive by sharing projects, programs and problems, but above all making me the greatest present he could do for me: chosing me as Godfather for his beloved son Seán that in this way he made also "my son". When I see him smiling I can see Massimo's smile. Sean will be alwayse proud of his father.

Massimo, now you are enjoying the light of God Holy Face, I know that there is nothing better than that, and I can tell only thank you and Arrivederci my friend
