So saddened to learn the Legend and Gentleman that was Matt Carolan has passed away. It was a privilege to have known him as a friend for many years. He was someone very special. Modest to a fault and above all, a brilliant raconteur & storyteller. They simply didn’t come any better than Matt. I will sadly mourn his loss. Matt has left us far far too soon. Matt had a rare skill to be able to break down complex technical issues in a way that made them simple to understand. He was a good friend and often went out of his way to assist us all in solving difficult issues, and he will be missed by all his close colleagues in Dunnes Stores.

Matt was an amazing individual with great intellect and technical vision. I had the pleasure of working with Matt in a number of companies, Hibernian & Dunnes Stores, and during these times his council and advice on challenging technical issues was always welcome.
