Bridie & Michelle. I was so glad to meet you both today in Claremorris to talk and reminisce about Matt. I admired him so much he was such a nice man and a great talent and he will be greatly missed by so many people. His funeral Mass is beautiful. Fabulous music. He'd have loved it..He has left wonderful memories. Rest in peace Matt 🙏

Matt McLoughlin was a heroic gentleman on the drama circuit in the western province. The numerous accolades he picked up over five decades for Best Actor Award on the drama circuit reflected the talent of this wonderful gentleman. I recall him performing an impromptu rendition of the Robert Service classic monologue, Dangerous Dan McGrew, backstage in Claremorris Town Hall after a drama production one night many years ago. It was incredible in it authenticity. Matt was a great Claremorris and Mayo man and he will be remembered with great affection by all who had the privilege of knowing him. My condolences to Bridie and their four wonderful daughters, Sophia, Michelle, Mary Rose and Sarah, the family circle, and many friends at this sad time. Matt was a true legend and we will not see the likes of him again.

Matt was a gentleman, a great neighbour and always available to help others. He had a great sense of belonging, loved the area and its people. May he now benefit and reap the rewards of eternal life. RIP Matt.
