Matt O'Donohoe

Thinking of you all and sending my love. Had so many good times in Dublin with you all and will always remember the beading lessons and the fashion talks with Matt, he was fabulous. Take care of each other.

i am so sorry to hear that Matt has passed away. i spent many happy hours in Wicklow Street choosing outfits and , and in fact, he made my wedding dress. Ar dheis De go mbeidh se.

I was very sorry to see the notice of your dad's death in last Monday's Irish Independent. He made my wedding dress in 1982 and kitted out my mother, my grandmother and my little sister. I also have a beautiful ball gown and one of his trademark shirts and other items - as lovely now as when he designed them for me, even though I don't fit into them anymore! I am from Tralee originally and was delighted that a Kerryman was doing the honours for me.The following line from the poem by Sigerson Clifford is a tribute to Matt, whose voice and sense of fun I loved, even though it's been such a long time ago......

I have many wonderful memories of working with Matt and Ann at fashion shows throughout Ireland - they were a great team. Matt is still know for his beautiful and elegant garments and his particular expertise in pin tucking. May he rest in peace.
