I am shocked and devastated to hear of Matthew's passing. I worked with Matty for many years. He was one of the real 'characters' in Mount Temple. He always had a smile on his face and was ready for a chat and a joke. I loved seeing what car he would be driving each day and what trips he was planning.
For many years, Matthew (along with Damien and Podge) helped me with sets for plays. He was really talented and provided many practical suggestions.
I would like to send my sincere condolences to his family (who he talked about a lot) at this very difficult time. I will really miss his smile and presence in MT.

Truly shook up and saddened to hear of my friend Matthew's passing only just this evening. Met him the Thursday evening before Christmas with most of his family, spoke to one of his sons not met before, having a few drinks and enjoying himself. Normally would have had time to join him at some stage. Often shared long chats where Matthew naturally showed care, thought and intuition that stand out clearly in memory.

I am heartbroken to hear the news of Matthew’s passing. We worked together and he would give me advice and help me build displays and sets. Often popping in for a chats and coming up with new creative and imaginative projects. He had a talent and creativity and I will miss his sense of fun greatly. Deepest condolences to his family.
