I lived with Matt when we were in college in Dublin, he was a sound man with a good heart..I will never forget the night Matt & Gordon Darcy throw me around the room for fun,the strength of them!!yet me being a former hurler took them on..sincere condolences to Matts wife, his little angel daughter & everyone who was lucky enough to know him.

I only heard the sad news today in Sydney. I played rugby with Matt at St. Mary’s when we were younger. Bumped into Matt, Lara and Abbie in St. Stephen’s Green 12months ago after nearly 20yrs. He was in great form as always. Very sad to hear this news and sending love to his family.

I am so very sorry to hear this terrible news.

Matt was a daily visitor to our house more than 20 years ago when Gordon, James and I shared in Dublin. We always got on so well. And then we all went out separate directions. I often thought to ask as to how or where he was in the ensuing years.

Matt was a just a great guy, we had a lot of fun and laughs together in the Caribbean when we were based there for work and happened to meet Matt! We are so lucky to have met him. Unfortunately I can't make the funeral today.

To Matthew's family, friends and loved ones, my deepest sympathies and condolences, you all are in my thoughts and prays.

I working with Matthew in BT Ireland, Matt was always professional, diligent and did so with a smile on his face once of the best guys I have ever worked alongside.

Outside of work, I had the pleasure of been on the road with Matthew when he had a motorbike and we went on a number of ride outs and attended some road races events back in the day, great memories and laughs.

Sincere condolences to all of Matthew’s loved ones. I was in ‘99 NSW with Matt. I know the NSW community will be very sorry to know of his passing. Matt visited me in my family home in Howth a couple of times. I will be thinking of his family tomorrow.
