Heartbroken to hear Matt died over a month ago and the very sad news filtered through to us this evening. Matt was a true gentleman who had time for everyone, May he rest in peace and happiness. Matt was a very good friend of mine for over 25 years and I always found him to be very honorable in his sales in the mart circles. When you bought an animal from Matt you knew that you bought quality. Matt was always very social able and enjoyed nothing more than a good chat. I had met Matt at Monaghan Day over the years and always looked forward to having the chat and seeing his stock which were always to an excellent very high standard. The Simmental cattle were a favorite along with the Belgium blue cattle. Each one finished to perfection. A great
judge of animal was Matt. He was a great communicator and had some of the best stories I ever heard. Obliging was his middle name and if he could do anything for anyone he would. I’m
