I was very saddened to hear of Matt's passing. My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. It was an absolute pleasure to work alongside Matt in J&J. He was always in good form and a pleasure to deal with. To hear Matt singing a song or speaking some random Spanish as he walked through the office would cheer anyone up on a dreary Monday. RIP Matt.

I was very sad to hear of Mat's passing as was all his football pals in C.Y.M.Terenure where Mat played a number of seasons.Not was he a very good soccer player Sweeper his best position but He was an absolute Gentleman on and off the pitch and very enjoyable Company.May his gentle soul rest in peace.

I am so sorry to hear the sad news of Matt's passing. I worked with Matt in JnJ and he was a true gentleman and lit up the room. He told me stories about his granny and relations in Moneygall (where I'm from) and we had great chats about Tipp hurling matches on a Monday morning. (Tipp for the hurling, Dublin for the football). He always spoke so lovingly of all his family and was such a proud grandad. RIP Matt.

Matt was a magnificent man and loved by everyone at J&J. He would always stop and talk to you and have a story for you - he loved hurling!!
Matt would always go the extra mile for anyone, he'd have the craic, cheer you up and leave with one of his signature phrases (Aer Lingus etc).

When I first told him I was from Offaly he laughed but then we really got going when I heard he was a Tipperary man and still had his connections in Rathcabbin. Great memories . Sadly God has taken a pure gentleman to Heaven . Rest in peace Matt .
