Very sorry to hear of the passing of Maura, a lovely Lady.

My deepest sympathy to Lorraine, Ainsley, Stuart and all the extended family and many friends of Maura Ahern. She will be missed, and I look back fondly at the many chats we had over the years. Such a lovely lady, with a great sense of humour and a fantastic community spirit. My grandson had fun walking and talking with Maura when they met. She always had a kind word, or a great story to share. I wish all of her family and friends the treasure and comfort of many happy memories.

Maura was so kind, warm, and welcoming to me when I first arrived to Kinsale Library, and very helpful too - she seemed to know where everything was, and would remind me to put the bin out on Wednesday evenings - she could have probably ran the library herself!

Maura was a dear friend to Cork County Library Service, and will be fondly remembered by every staff member who had the good fortune to meet her. May she rest in peace

Maura was a great patron to Charles Fort. As a keen historian in her own right she was a frequent visitor and had a strong interest in developments and restoration works on site. She was especially proud when Charles Fort hosted Historical Society meetings in The Tea Rooms, to which she was a noted contributor.
