We have only just heard the sad news. Our thoughts are with you all. May she rest in peace.

Maura was much loved and will always be remembered.
She will be much missed.

I knew Maura through Meals on Wheels and always admired her kindness and grace.
This year, I will celebrate 50 years living in Greystones.
Many of the plants in our new garden, here in Rathdown Park, came from the Devereux Nurseries.

We remember Michael, as well, at this very special time.

Thinking of Maura and her kindness and grace and of all of the Devereux family and thankful for your friendship and the most amazing memories of growing up with Louis! It’s been over 50 years since we moved from Pearse Street to Cherry Lane and I vividly remember the surprising natural expanse of the Cherry Orchard with it’s huge old swing, the barns and greenhouses, the little stream and dam and the D.evereux brothers sitting on homemade go-carts and wondering aloud who the new arrivals thought they were!
Once greetings were over (and a treaty signed), us Moroneys were welcomed into a childhood life filled with jackdaws as pets, conkers and penknives, and sometimes conquering the top of a huge hill of manure! We wandered the fields from sunup to sundown in search of novelty, braving the insects on the lane that ran along the side of the Devereux house and forming a natural connection between Killincarrig and Delgany. Maura’s kindness and grace (and the large pot of delicious food she had made and left sitting on the AGA) were ever present, as is the image of Michael perusing National Geographic after a long day in the greenhouse and asking Lou and I when we were going to give up being wastrels. I don’t know the answer to that, but I will be forever grateful to Maura and Michael for enabling such a treasured childhood. Sad on reading this so soon after her 100 'th birthday celebrations , my condolences to her extended family, sons and daughter Bridgette ,John & Louis ,R I P Maura . parting is such sweet sorrow ,great times were had through good and bad .
