Deepest sympathy to Shara and all Maura's family on her passing. It's hard to imagine her not being around. Maura and Noel were a big part of my childhood, with regular visits to their house and them to ours. Or indeed popping in to see her in her office when we were in town. And Christmas day definitely wouldn't have felt like Christmas day without them. Lots of good times with good friends. May Maura's gentle soul rest in peace.

Maura came to Carlow in the 60's as bookeeper in the family hardware business. She became an integral part of the company and was appointed a director in 1976 - a post which she held until the company was dissolved in 1988.
I learned much about business from her.

I've many memories of popping into Goods with Mum to see Maura in the office; of Maura and Noel visiting each Christmas Day, and of many Sunday afternoons.
