I have happy memories of meeting Maura at SIETAR events - she brought enormous energy and commitment to our intercultural work. We also had a lot of laughs like having breakfast in a hotel for young people in Futuroscope in Poitiers with the waiters on roller skates and then getting lost and having to walk across a muddy field to the congress. .
I am really very sad to hear of Maura's passing. I first met her in the early years of Sietar Europa. She immediately took me under her wing, encouraging me constantly . She was a very warm affectionate person who had the adorable tendancy to mother all those of us who were Irish.
I owe her a lot. May she rest in peace.

Dearest Brendan, Paul, David & Family,

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Maura. I know how large and important a part she was in all your lives and the love you all shared. Please accept my condolences and hope that your lifetime of memories will sustain you while you grieve your loss. May Maura rest in peace in the loving arms of God and may you all take comfort with your friends and family.
There were 7 of us, including Maura, who were elected in March 1991 as the very first Board of Directors for the newly created SIETAR Europa. There was much to do. In the many years that followed, Maura never shunned to take responsibility or to share her enthusiasm and energy with old and new members. All of us in SE enjoy the fruits of her labour and have the fondest memories.

Thank you, Brendan, for sharing Maura with us and being present at so many SE events.

From your SIETAR family, our deepest condolences.
May she have peace and shine upon us.
Susan
To Maura's family. I knew Maura from the beginning of SIETAR Europa that she helped set up in the early 1990's. She was a very dynamic and dedicated founding mother. Meeting her (often with Brendan) at our congresses was always a pleasure. Yes, she was like a mother to us all. We will remember her as such.
May she now rest in peace.
Dear Brendan,
Last time we met was a couple of years ago in Dublin. Maura was as cheerful and lively as ever.
Last time we were on the phone she told me about her illness, but still wanted very much to know how I was. She talked about her children and grandchildren with so much warmth and love!
I remember her as a fantastic role model: she was a person who would connect and unite. She had a heart and a good word for everybody.
I feel for you and your family, and I hope you have a lot of support from people around you.
We at SIETAR and at EWMD all feel blessed to have known her. We can stand on her shoulders, and keep alive the energy and joy she shared.

My sincere condolences to you Brendan and to your family. I knew Maura through the SIETAR congresses and it was always such joy to meet with her.
Dear Brenda,
I remember how Maura always impeccable and full of humour drug you with charm into SIETAR circles. You were such an awesome couple to see together. I can only imagine vaguely the space she will leave in your life and your heart. I am sure that she will send to us all her highest self to inspire us and make us smille.

TO Maura's family,
I send you the grâce of God to accompany you in this transition of an earthly présent mother to a mother sitting near God and looking over to you as you live your lives.
I wish you a deep joyous mourning of your beloved Maura. (She would not stand moping about)

God bless you all
With condolences to you and your family, Brendan, from Ann and Koraley and on behalf of Maura's many friends in the Network Alumni. She was a great trooper and a staunch supporter, and one of the earliest members of Network. May she rest in peace.

Oh, Paul, we are so sorry to hear the sad news. But we are grateful that you were able to get back to Ireland to spend some time with your mother. This must be a great consolation for you and we are sure that it was a comfort to her to have you near as the angels came to greet her. We wish that we could have had the opportunity to meet her; she sounds like a lovely woman, much loved by her family, which is everything to an Irish mother! God bless your mother and you and all your family. You are all in our prayers.
Fondly,
Phil and Judy
