Sincere condolences to the Gormley and Doyle families on the loss of my first cousin, Maura.
When we were children we used to meet twice every year. One occasion would be during our annual summer holiday when we stayed with our Grandmother in Wicklow. We would travel to Garristown to have time with Robert, Maura and Anne and enjoy a delicious spread provided by Auntie Louie. The other occasion was when they were either going to or returning from their holiday in Ballyferriter they would stop for lunch with us, excellently prepared by my mother, and we’d enjoy some cousins’ playtime at our home in Limerick.
Regrettably, our paths haven’t crossed in recent years so it’s a long time since we spent time together. We always liked each other and got along well, but life’s journeys took us on different trajectories.
Brian and family, please accept my sincere sympathy on Maura’s passing. May she Rest in Peace.
