Maura was a formidable advocate for her local community in and around her beloved town of Granard and she made her mark as an outstanding public representative who served her constituents of the Granard Local Electoral Area with distinction and diligence as a Member of Longford County Council for 24 years between 1985 and 2009.
Maura's love of Granard and dedication to public service followed her family tradition as her late father Tommy Kilbride RIP was a member of Séanad Éireann.
I had the honour of serving with Maura on the committee of Granard Agricultural Show Society and Maura invested a huge amount of work and effort into ensuring that Granard Show was a successful annual event.
May her good soul Rest in Eternal Peace and please be assured that the happy repose of Maura's good soul and God's comforting of you her grieving family is foremost in my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time.
With the help of God's grace, Maura will be happily reunited with her deceased beloved husband Michael, her father Senator Tommy Kilbride, mother Mary Jo and brothers Séan, Seamus, Paddy and Joseph RIP.
