Rest in peace Maura.
From a CPC colleague.
Carmel O'Regan
The Maguire sisters were heartbroken to hear about Maura's passing. We've know four generations of the Mannion family. Our granny Fortune was friends with Mrs. Mannion, and their houses were back to back with a narrow laneway between them. Our mother, Ina, was friends with Maura since childhood, and we grew up across the street from Dessie and family.

Maura was like an honorary auntie to us. We played cards every Sunday night at our Auntie Charlie's house and Maura often joined us. She would school us on strategy and scold us when we messed up. She even taught us how to play bridge!

I will always remember Maura for her tenacity and joie de vivre. She is one of the OG PANKs (professional aunt, no kids) that inspired the next generation of women to be fiercely independent and to live life to the fullest.

May She Rest in Peace.

Laura and the Maguire sisters

Maura was a close friend and adopted family member of the Brady family and I recall many stories and great times in her company with our family. Thoughts go to her family and everyone who had the pleasure of her company. Rest in peace 🙏
Maura was one of a kind. Loved a chat and adventure, with some of the best stories to be told. She truly lived a life and what more can we ask for. You were at our wedding and even our house warming. Some of our fondest family memories had you at the centre of them. You will always be fondly remembered by us and the Bradys. It was our pleasure to have shared a part in your time here. Gone but never forgotten.
Thinking of you all at this sad time, I truly loved Maura ❤️
Aunty Maura,

We are so heartbroken to have lost you. we spent our whole lives looking up to you, and with our cherished memories we will continue to do so,

We always looked forward to spring, because we knew that meant getting to go see a musical with you. Feeling like vips because, of course, you knew the cast and we got to say hello afterwards. Or, how in the summer, we would stay up in your house as kids as a ‘little holiday.’ You always made it feel so special.

These are memories we will hold close to our hearts forever. We will miss you so much.

Cheerio,
Kate and Eve.
Maura,

You were a force to be reckoned with. A true lady with a heart of gold. Even though you were my great aunt, you always insisted on being introduced simply as Aunt Maura because the “great” made you “seem old.” But the truth is, you were never really old. Growing older only made you younger in spirit.

You found the fun in everything, especially in recent years. Dancing in the extension, dressing up in your bedroom, or sneaking a Happy Meal upstairs so we could eat in bed and chat. You did everything with a smile.

I recently heard that life isn’t measured by time but by moments. If that’s true, then you lived an incredibly long and rich life. Your stories were the best, whether about your travels, the people you met, or the lifelong friendships you built. You could look at any black and white photo and recall not just names but the stories behind them.

You climbed the corporate ladder with determination and pride, loving every moment of your work. You adored musicals, movies, and the magic of the panto at Christmas while sneaking us sweets from your handbag. Your love for shopping, anything that sparkled, a love you share with my mammy, & your famous zoo pass made childhoods the best.

You lived with purpose, passion, and a spirit that makes me believe I can do anything.

Maura, you will be deeply missed. You're someone I will always look up to.

Say hi to everyone for us.

Rest in peace.

And don’t worry, I’ll always have a hoolie in the kitchen for you.
