Maura Murphy

So sad to hear of Maura's death recently. I really do appreciate having learned typing from her many years ago. I have often thought of her. I was one of her earliest pupils who do not forget what she (Miss Murphy then) so diligently taught me. To her nephews and extended family I want to convey my deepest sympathy at this time. Hope she is enjoying the happiness of heaven which she and her good friends and family now deceased truly deserve.

Sorry to hear of Ms Murphy's passing. While she did not teach me during my time in the Vocational School, we had one or two run ins over the years. Something to smile about now. One nice memory I do have is Ms Murphy and the late Seán Cooney (RIP) having a dance at the annual Christmas disco in the school gym. Rest in peace and hopefully Ms Kingston and yourself will make new adventures from above.

Deepest Sympathies to Maura's family. She taught us in '82 to '83. I have both fond and humourous memories of it. She was so genuine, & passionately wanted all of us to do well and that's where incidents in the classroom spilled over into Miss Murphy's wit - incidents when someone or other in the class was not getting the technique right. I enjoyed fairly frequent chats with Maura whenever we would see one another in Mallow and forever after the year she taught me .
She fought the good fight and ran the race to the finish.
A very dedicated and caring teacher.A good person determined to do her very best for anyone she could help. Eternal Rest, grant unto her, oh Lord. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

Sad to hear of the death of my dear first cousin Maura. I send my sympathy to Barry James & John. Maura came from a distinguist family in Irish history. Her Mother Madge was a sister of Sean Hales Teachta Dala of Ireland 1880 -1922 whos monument can be seen in Bandon. May you rest in peace Cousin Maura.
