We knew Maura from September 1960 when she joined us in 5th Class in the old Convent. She and Mary Campbell joined the same day. Later the pair of them taught us how to dance and jive. They had learnt from Maura's mother dancing around their kitchen on the Tulla Road.. The Colaiste then until Maura took off to UCG to study English Literature. Anna and Maura even shared Galway accommodation. Their friendship prevailed with Mairtin teaching with Maura and then St Anthony intervened and Tuesdays novenas and treats in the Snack Shack lasted until recently.
