I had the pleasure of meeting Maureen on a number of occasions at Irish Ambassador’s Residence in Ottawa. I remember Maureen as a kind, warm and engaging lady with a sense of humour and spirit. I have fond memories of my few meetings with your mother and grandmother here in Ottawa ... and I recall the lively glint in her eye, her quick turn of phrase, and her engaging presence. She made people here feel welcome and special. You have lost your dear Mom and Gran, Westmeath and Ireland have lost a great ambassador and the world has lost one of its bright lights.
