Dear Connell family, We sisters and our mission friends are greatly saddened to hear about Maureen’s passing. She was a very loving and gentle lady. We remember her and her late husband, dear Jim, with deep gratitude for their kindness and friendship towards us, sisters. Their generosity, hard work and all the sacrifices towards the poor and the needy in the missions were invaluable.
There has been no Sale of Work for the missions without Maureen and Jim. The many Mission Appeals that Jim did, promoting the Mission needs in almost all the dioceses of Ireland, on behalf of the Sisters, has brought a huge contribution to the Mission World. As a good friend of the sisters, Maureen has left a lot of unforgettable memories. We will always be grateful to Maureen and her family.
We assure you of our prayers, for the repose of her soul, and for all of you in a special way in this time of grief. May she rest in peace.
