We were very sorry to hear of the passing of our cousin Maureen, the last of a great generation of Corkerys.

We remember the warm welcome that Johnny, Mrs Corkery , Creena, Sean, Maureen and the other Corkerys, now sadly all departed this life, gave to their Mallow Corkery cousins, to Tadhg, Lil and Donal now gone too and to us, when we often called to Redemption Road. We will always cherish their memories.

Lord have mercy on Maureen. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.

Fond Memories of Maureen going back to 1959 when I first met her when I went to work in Guys' (Cross St) Liberty St. She was a talented cook and confectioner and she had a deep Faith. We were so disappointed when Corona 19 prevented us from going any further than the door when she celebrated her 100th birthday.

The Corkery family grave in St Finbarr's is just five to the left of our family plot. Each time I visit my Father Paddy , Mother Rita and Aunt Theresa , I always stand at the Corkery grave and remember Creina who was one of Mum's lifelong friends along with Maura Donoghue and Rena Lynch.
They're all reunited together now in Heaven having lovely chats. RIP.
