What an incredible woman. Maureen was fascinating - a true font of knowledge. Decades ago, she and I spent an evening talking about Noel Browne’s courage in challenging powerful institutions (she had met him, and I was enthralled). Browne was known for his unwavering and uncompromising stance on issues something Maureen admired (and championed). Her legacy lives on through her family, who are a testament to her strength of spirit and the love she shared.

Sincere condolences to all the Daly family. Your mum was a legend and will never be forgotten. She's now reunited with Timmy, the love of her life. May her beautiful soul rest in peace

Maureen Daly was a woman of many wonders. A comedian, a community player, a great story teller, and essentially a ‘nonna’ to all. You would see her sitting outside her quaint little house with her little dog Dusty, often wearing a green jacket with a locket necklace. She would look at the view of Mount Corin.
If you were feeling down or just needed a chat, she would heal with you a warm hug and a cup of tea. One thing I recall so well is her incredible laugh, and of course her sarcastic eye roll when she was aware of something truly ridiculous. One happy memory I have is watching the children’s programmes ‘Catch the Pigeon’ and ‘Wacky Races’ with her.
Man, she really was the Queen of Durrus.

We are so saddened to be told of Maureen's passing. We were not in Durrus around the 2nd, so are only just hearing. Maureen was a HUGE part of the McKenna family history, and we and our children have wonderful wonderful memories of the times–the many times we spent together. Our condolences to her family, and to all her neighbours and friends in Durrus, who will all miss that laugh and smile. Dear Maureen. Much love.

She always fed the musicians after the dances in the hall, even a couple of times after dances on christmas night. A lovely kind woman and a pleasure to have known. May she rest in peace.

Only knew your mom while she was in bantry hospital opposite my mom. She was such a funny lady who had a loose tongue and she said she earned it with age lol. Just want to say what great memories I have of Maureen, her generosity and the fun whenever she was around. Sending sympathy to you all, you will miss her for sure. So sorry we could not be there for the funeral. I was away and my children (Healys) were away with me so nobody was able to join ye on the day.
