Sad to hear of the passing of Mrs Mc Allister what a lovely lady who has reached a great age. Well I remember her and Jim working together in the pub, my dad Vincie Mc Geown took me there when I passed my driving test, fondest memories of lovely conversations, many times with my dad and Jim. Best described as a matriarch of the Blackrock Abbey family, through an inherently natural and warm demeanour Maureen commanded a deep and lasting respect which endeared her to all those with whom she engaged. She was in every sense a lady and moreover she was a lady with presence. It was understated and gracious yet ever present and real and she carried and exuded this presence daily and with complete ease and purpose. We were privileged to have been chosen by Maureen as the location she would call home for the last 7.5 years and her resilience, determination and zest for life has been a beacon for us all on how we should approach our latter years and on how life should be lived. Maureen having enriched us by your presence and enlightened us by your actions may God speed and take you to your place of rest and may you rest in peace, We are truly the better for having known you.

Maureen was a very close friend of my mother Una and they had many happy days together, as well as with their ICA friendship group. My condolences to the McAlester family.
