My parents were good friends with Jack and Maureen. Many letters were exchanged between them. A friendship that began through my friendship with Alan in Oosterhout, the Netherlands. Rest in peace, Maureen. I wish Alan and the entire family a lot of strength.

I recall her teaching me how to pattern & make a quilt , she was 98 yrs at the time her deft fingers & sharp mind flew through the process . She had great style , flair & she was a gutsy lady. Sorry to hear this sad news. I have very fond memories of Maureen, or rather Mrs Mc Donald, frequenting the household as a child and close friend of Alan.

When I think of Maureen, I remember her as a very kind and friendly woman. She was always worrying about Alan during his stay in The Netherlands and made sure he was doing well. A true loving mum. She will always have a special place in my heart. My sincere condolences to all the family and friends.

My condolences to Jean, Anne, Alan, and all the family. I was truly blessed the day we moved in next door to Maureen and Jack 41 years ago. Maureen’s style, humour, kindness, and common sense were remarkable, and I will always treasure the friendship we shared.

I cannot help but think of Jack and Jim today, and how proud they would be of the love and care you all gave to Maureen over these past years. 💐
