My deepest condolences to you Anna and to the extended Bermingham family. I am heartbroken that I was unable to attend the funeral of my dear friend Maurice due to a hospital stay. I have such happy memories of our early days together in An Garda Siochana when we were both stationed together in Cobh, and he has been a true lifelong friend ever since. I often tell the story of the motorbike that we bought together; the latest time being at the recent funeral of my own beloved wife Mary and how that bike was instrumental in taking me back to Reenascreena to the night that we first met. I feel your loss Anna, but they are now both at home in our father’s house with their loved ones that have gone before them. I am hoping to make a trip to Blarney during the summer to meet up with another dear friend Donal O'Donovan so I will give you a ring in advance to see if you are home. Alternatively, if I am well enough, I will attend the month’s mind mass for Maurice as I would love to sympathise with you and your family in person and reminisce about happier times.
