Deepest condolences to Maurice's family and friends. He was a true gent. Knew him from when I first started out in FBD. Later in life he ended up down home in Southwest Kerry only up the road from my relatives, The O'Connell's in Glenmore and my dad even ended up doing some work for him. Such a small world. May he rest in peace x

We were so saddened to hear of Maurice's passing. We will never forget his kindness to us when we needed help and advice, which he gave freely and with immense generousity. He was very entertaining too, and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with him. May he and Liz now rest in peace together. Sincere condolences to both their families.

Our family were great friends with Maurice for a very, very long time. We thoroughly enjoyed his innate sense of humour, jokes and divilment.
He was always a very obliging fellow and valued friendship to the core.

Unfortunately, Maurice's health was to decline in the months following Liz's passing in February 2025. My concern was eased when I learnt, to my pleasure, the unending love, care and attention that was lavished onto Maurice by his & Liz's very close friends, the Thompson family. I can attest to the very pivotal role that the Thompsons, Robert, Adrienne, Ross, Amy & Vicki played in both Maurice's welfare and well being and that of Liz from the indept conversations I had with Maurice.

However, life can be so cruel when seven months later Maurice was to pass away prematurely on 5th Sept 2025.

Rev. Ross delivered a very personal and heart warming eulogy in his own inimitable style.
It must be very difficult and surely an unenviable task to prepare and deliver eulogies especially when you knew and cared for the persons you are addressing who passed way within seven months of each other.

"It's so nice to talk to somebody
To find someone who's willing to share
I know that this Life is worth living
But sometimes it just isn't fair."

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Maurices passing. I worked alongside Maurice for many years and he was a true gentleman, a wealth of knowledge and very generous with his time and advice concerning both work and personal matters. I fondly remember his visit to my home ot too long ago for dinner. We celebrated our birthdays on the very same day (24th March), albeit precisely 20 years apart. I'll miss our chats on the phone. A solid decent man with integrity and an enquiring mind never afraid to propose a counter opinion. Hard to believe we trod the loss adjusting boards together during late 1980’s /early 90’s. Not sure his like will be seen again. May he rest in peace. ET
