My sincere condolences to the Fenton family on the death of your dad Maurice. We shared the same class together in school in Burnham . He was always a brilliant student. Your dad operated on my son Joseph when he was aged 7 which was a great success. May he rest in peace he was a true gentleman.

To the family of Dr Fenton .....I have not forgotten how kind DR Fenton was to my elderly mother in the Eye and Ear Hospital about 43 years ago. He was a most deserving member of the medical profession He was such a compassionate caring dr with a great sense of humour and humanity.. They were rare qualities in drs in those days.... . Of course he was a brilliant Gaeilgeoir too and knew all the old seanfhocail !!!.... I am delighted you his children have followed in his footsteps . Sincere condolences to the Fenton family. Mr Fenton performed emergency surgery on my son in the early hours of the morning in the Eye & Ear 22 years ago, he prevented him losing his sight. I could never thank him enough. I’m sure we are one of hundreds of families who owe Mr Fenton a great depth of gratitude. May he rest in peace.

I was so sorry to hear just today about the passing of your lovely Dad, Maurice. He was the first Captain that I worked for when I came to KIlliney in 2000. Despite me being from Cork, we got on famously and worked through was then a difficult time for us both, as the building of the new clubhouse was just starting. We shared many a chat, story, pint of Guinness and glass of wine in the intervening years. He was a great Kerryman, a complete gentleman, a wonderful Doctor and a good friend to me in my time in Killiney. For that I will be forever grateful. May he rest in peace.

To all the Fenton family, I offer you my deepest condolences on the passing of Maurice. He was my ophthalmic surgeon in my youth & was such a lovely man, he also shared rooms with Dr Counihan , who my Mum worked for. He operated on my eye years ago and I wouldn’t let him cut my eyelashes before the surgery , as they were so long, so after the surgery when I woke up he had left a tub of Vaseline petroleum jelly and told me to put that on my eyelashes as it makes them grow. I am still doing this several years later!!! RIP
