What a shock when I learned of Maurice’s death. I go back to his apprenticeship in Racecourse Inn and later within AGS and neighbour.

Maurice was and will always be remembered as a beautiful, kind, warm person. My life was uplifted in his presence. Such a great listener and deeply caring friend to so many people. We spent so much time together as teenagers and in our early twenties. I’m forever grateful to be blessed by his company and thankful that we stayed connected for all these years. I had the privilege of having Maurice as a manager for nearly 15 years and this will always be something I am grateful for. Maurice was not only our manager but a truly kind, patient and amazing man. He treated everyone with such respect and understanding.
He has made a lasting difference in my life, and indeed his team's life, and we will miss him forever. His kindness will never be forgotten.
Rest in Peace Maurice, the example you set in the work place will never be forgotten. Your legacy will remain with all of us that had the honour of working with you.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Maurice for many years and one word immediately came to mind when I learned of his passing and that was ‘Gentleman’.

No words can adequately describe the magnitude of Maurice’s loss to his immediate and extended family, loved ones, circle of friends and long-standing colleagues.

Truly, Maurice was a person of unique character, decency, care, love, diligence, and compassion who will be forever remembered and missed by so, so many.

Above all, I will remember how relentlessly, how lovingly and how proudly he spoke of his family Elena, Jeff, Sophie and Mathew. Never mind the two-bananas anecdote, in my experience, this was the everyday constant. Jeff, your eulogy was simply outstanding. Sophie and Mathew too, your grace, composure and love for your wonderful father was so beautifully palpable. As the celebrant remarked, the apples did not fall far from the tree. He was so, so proud of you all.
