Condolences to the McNamee and wider family. Maurice was a wonderful Club man and was instrumental in generating funds for Kilcoole Golf Club in its infancy and beyond which was vital to the survival of the Club. It was a pleasure to know and work with him. We had the odd pint and a few games of golf over years and I have great memories of those times. RIP Maurice

Maurice was a wonderful footballer and a great Gael. I had the pleasure of playing with and against Maurice over many years. He was a tough and fierce competitor but always fair. He served his adopted club and county with distinction as a player, administrator and referee. Maurice was a gentleman in every possible way.
I believe that Maurice probably has an unique record in the GAA. In the days when the inter county Minor Championship was played immediately before the inter county Senior Championship Maurice played for Fermanagh minors and came on as a sub for the seniors on the same day.
