We were a family of 9 childrens arrived in newtown donore from dublin , back in the late 70s , 7 of us got placed in robertstown
School and mr.musgrave welcomed us all so much and all i can say i have lovely memories to this day what a lovely teacher he was , he encouraged you all the time , basketball , athletes etc

Condolences to Lorna and Darragh and wider Musgrave family – your Dad was an amazing man who made every pupil at Robertstown N.S. feel part of something special and believed that we could all achieve our full potential. Over the last week I’ve no doubt there have been many funny stories shared — not least about how he could somehow fit almost the entire under-10 team into the back (and front!) and maybe even the boot of his car!
He inspired in so many of us a lifelong love of history, sport and music, as well as giving us countless opportunities both inside and outside the classroom — Scór na nÓg and school quizzes to name just a few. We were truly lucky that Chriss, Mark, Lorna and Darragh shared him with us over the years, because above all else, he loved his family deeply.
One of my fondest memories is how he would visit our house late on Christmas Eve, never in a rush home. Timekeeping was never his strong point, and true to form, he kept that tradition right up until the day he was laid to rest.
He was a brilliant teacher, a natural leader, and after retirement continued to give his time selflessly to parish development, to Cumann na mBunscol GAA and to the wider community. It was fitting that the local football pitch was named in his honour. He carried many names — The Master, Sir, Mr. Musgrave, Mossie — each spoken with respect and affection.
May he rest in peace, knowing the legacy he leaves in the hearts of generations. 'Maireann an crann ach imíonn lámh a chuir é.'

I will never forget my first morning in Robertstown NS, I can still see him now this tall jolly man walking through the door of the class chatting to us, welcoming us to the school as nervous four and five year olds and handing out coins to each of us to get some sweets in mullaneys shop on the way home.

Your loss is so deep and no words can console you, but thank you for sharing your dad with us as a community we are forever indebted to him for all his wonder work, kindness and of course friendship

Maurice will be remembered as the genial Quiz Master for Scor and Scor na n-Og in the 1980’s and later. When Cumann na mBunscoil was founded in the 1990’s to foster Gaelic games and an annual Cross Country race in our Primary Schools Maurice became Cathaoirleach a position he held long after he retired from teaching. All these competitions had the guiding hand of Maurice. He will always be remembered by his fellow Kildare teachers and by the pupils he taught for his enthusiasm. Reading the condolences concerning Mossie say it all about the man.
He was the embodiment of all that is goodness in the human being.
Along with the massive energy, Mossie's love of life and people oozed out of every bone of his body. Positivity , good humour and being ever so generous with his time made you feel good to be in his company.
Chris and I worked together in Coill Dubh N S and through her Mossie and I became friends.
Chris was full of energy and Mossie and her were an ever so united couple. Family was all important to him.
Robertstown dedicated their GAA grounds to him during his dynamic living years. No more needs to be said. Mossie you deserve a rest.

He welcomed me with so much warmth, treating me like a daughter. He prayed for me, showed me love, and was always so thankful for even the smallest things.
