Our family was marooned for a weekend in Millicent in the big snow of Jan.'84. We were rescued by Maurice, taken to his home for a meal prepared by Carmel and brought to our home in Celbridge afterwards. Never to be forgotten. Rest in peace Maurice - your work is done.

I was later lucky enough to help out on his memoir short story collection; he enjoyed such wonderful quests and really made the most out of life around him. I’m sorry we couldn’t attend today in person. May he now rest in peace with dear Carmel.
