A lot of knitting done with lots of chatting while picking up more wool and of course lots of Ice cream consumed when the shop moved across the street. May was the nicest woman to meet on your walk as you were always guaranteed a great chat especially about football.

I remember calling to your shop to buy those famous ice cream cones so many years ago. It was always a real treat to call to ‘Mays ‘ and have her locally famous whipped ice cream cones. Always greeted with a smile from May , Phil or some of the many young people she trained to do the job, just like she did it!! She was undoubtedly the ‘Ice Cream Cone Queen’ of Kells during that time. May she rest in peace!
