John Joe’s passion for local history was extraordinary, and his dedication to preserving it, particularly his contributions to that book on Murragh’s cemetery, was truly admirable. Living so close to the cemetery, we often reflected on the immense effort he poured into documenting its history.
We always welcomed the opportunity to converse with him. He was so generous with his time, never in a rush, and always willing to share his fascinating perspective on the history and heritage of the area. His enthusiasm and unmatched knowledge made every conversation with him a privilege.
