Having grown up with Mel in Drumsna and having spent a lot of time in his home there, I can vouch for him not having a bad bone in his body. As a young man, he was very sporty, yet always modest and never aggressive. Significant achievements in Mel's life, driven directly by his love of wife and family, were sometimes concealed in his relaxed friendliness and great sense of humour. I will miss his presence. May his gentle soul Rest in Peace.
