Mel minded my children in Kiddies Kingdom & she was so kind and caring I have wonderful photos of that time and great memories of our trips to farms etc. I also worked with Mel when the Crèche closed. Mel was a beautiful gentle soul. We all shared her Joy when Blaire was born. Mel RIP you are now an Angel 💕💕

Dear Sid and Gen and your families, my very deepest condolences on Mel's passing. Mel was a wonderful friend to have a teammate during our joint time in mountain rescue and we always had time for a joke with each other.

Mel has been such a big part of all our lives. Since Elizabeth and Blaire became 1st best friends, Mel made sure to nuture their little friendship and hence Mel became an important part of all of the Buckley household. Never missing a birthday or Communion and certainly not Christmas gifts, Mel always came to our home with a big heart, full of gifts and love.
From making gingerbread men to walking Elizabeth home from pre school and helping me when Joseph was born. Mel you will be missed so much in our home here. We love you and hope you are at peace. Lots of love Michelle and crew.

Oh Mel 💔 my thoughts are with Sid, Blaire and all of Mel's family at this devastating time. Mel was a giant force of a woman wrapped up in a tiny package, with a wicked sense of humour to boot. Treasured memories of the laughs we had together will stay with me forever.

I first met Mel at the school four years ago and I got to know her as a wonderful friend, so genuine and caring and always thinking about others despite all she was going through. She had a special way with children and kept alot of them safe on the way to school often dashing after them !
She was so generous and thoughtful, always first with a gift bag for every occasion she could possibly think of ! She was an amazing Mam to Blaire and they had such a beautiful bond. Herself and Sid faced everything together with such strenght and determination, the ability to laugh and savour all of the precious moments. Our thoughts are with them and all of Mel's family on their horrendous loss. Mel was a very special person, she will be truely missed and never forgotten. May she rest in peace

I'm shocked to hear of her passing. She always made me laugh and we had some great times together.
I did a Management Course with Melanie in Blackrock years ago and although we didn't live far from each other in Ratoath I saw more of her when she lived with her parents.

She was our angel when we left our baby girl in her care,She nurtured her and looked after her like her own along with all the team in the Creche. She was the kindest,gentlest,person with a wicked sense of humor. She made my transition back to work so much easier knowing that Mel was looking after my baby girl.
