My condolence to you Michael and all of the family. I have wonderful memories of Melissa since we first met in 1977 - so welcoming, so engaging and such fun. May she rest in peace having done so much to contribute to different causes and charities over her long life.
We were very sad to hear of Melissa’s death from my sister Ros Barwise. I shall always remember her kindness in visiting our mother when she came to Bristol to see her sister, Mum loved these visits and they always had so much to talk about.
The world will be a poorer place without her.
Melissa was such an outstanding and utterly loyal and effective supporter of the National Children's Hospital, Rotunda and indeed the Adelaide. I was horrified not to have been informed until today. I wish every possible support to the family. She will live on through the great and positive influence that she had on all who knew her
Dear Michael, Sarah, Kate, Emma, Richard and all your family,
I was so sorry to hear about Melissa's passing and I have been thinking about her a lot over the last days and weeks. She was such a significant figure in our lives growing up, including the night I was born, and I have such fond memories of her: her boundless energy, enthusiasm, her gorgeous yellow kitchen and humpty dumpty (one of my favourites growing up!) She was unbelievably kind, caring and thoughtful throughout my childhood and continuing into adulthood and she was very supportive to me during a particularly tough time. What a formidable and wonderful woman, whom I shall remember very dearly! Sending love and hugs to you all XX
