It's exceptionally hard to say a final goodbye to a loved one irrespective of them having reached an advanced age as Bri and her extended family know only too well with the death of Merv. He was a great character on and off the golf course and I especially enjoyed the banter with him in the clubhouse at WGC., where he loved to spend time! Condolences and deepest sympathy to the Monaghan family. RIP

My condolences to Bri, Jacky, Paula and Brenda. He was my father in law for 26 years and I knew him for a few years prior to marrying Jacky.
We made many visits to Ireland, he spoilt the kids and his never ending teasing drove them nuts. I got to know Merv quite well over the years and he will be missed.

Merv was a great father-in-law who was kind and generous. My children (Isaac and Rachel) were lucky to have known him and he loved them dearly teasing them at every opportunity with a smile and twinkle in his eye. I was always impressed by his knowledge of history and sport. And he spoke fondly of living in Canada and would reminisce about it often. I only wish we lived closer and could have seen him more regularly. But when Paula, Isaac, Rachel, and I did travel to Ireland, Merv was generous with his time spending hours diving us around Waterford and surrounding area to show us landmarks and historical sites of significance. My deepest condolences to Bri, Jackie, Paula, and Brenda for their loss. He will be missed. Much love.
