Goretti, I am so sorry for your loss and know that words will not adequately express this. From my earliest memory of Michael he was always so driven and focussed but as reliable as the north star. All those childhood memories came flooding back and left a feeling of loss greater than I ever expected. I can only pass on my sincere condolences to you and your lovely daughters.
To Bob and Cathal I just want to say that this loss on top of the previous losses of Marie and then Anne both taken prematurely is another cruel blow. I will say a prayer for you both and all your departed loved ones.

Goretti, Anna-May, Freya, Bob and Cathal, my sincere condolences on Michael’s Passing. It was a shock for me, as I was unaware of his condition; having left Ireland in 2010, I had lost contact with him. I remember our college days well with fond memories, we spent long hours in Bolton Street and in the Daughton’s house, studying and preparing projects. I also had nearsightedness and used to take notes from Michael as I could not see the board / overhead projector properly. Michael was a true gentleman and family man; may he rest in peace. For the family, my thoughts and prayers are with you during these difficult times.
