My sincere sympathy to the nieces and nephews of Mick Beirne. Condolences to his extended family and friends in Ballinagare.
I am sorry to read of his death.
I first met Mick in "digs" in Bray in 1976 and would have met him from time to time over the next twenty years or so.
A quiet man.....and one of nature's gentlemen. He was already recognised in Bray as a first class mechanic, working in Archer's Garage on Dublin Rd. This was before he moved to Hanover Quay. He enjoyed his football (soccer) as I seem to remember.
An early riser, you could set your clock by Mick's punctuality. Diligent, hardworking and honest.
I'm glad that he had a long and no doubt active retirement in his home place after he departed Bray around 2000.
May his gentle soul Rest in Peace. R.I.P, Mick.
